Sylvie cumulates over 35 years of research, practice and teaching movement arts. She is a dynamic teacher, who draws her unique ability to teach thoroughly and precisely from her background as a classically trained ballet teacher and dancer.
People have commented that her classes are infused with grace, rigor and agility. She possesses a profound understanding of the workings of the human mind and body which allows her to empower her students to work their own miracles on and off the mat.
Her introduction to yoga happened in 1987 while she was teaching ballet on the Island of Haiti. This first approach came in the form of a VHS tape of Raquel Welch beautifully teaching a Bikram Yoga class. She later became immersed into the spiritual aspect of yoga after she was trained in the Sivananda Yoga lineage. Since that moment, her life aspiration has been to balance and blend dance and Yoga in order to develop a body-mind practice that also provides her students with spiritual guidance.
Through years of rigorous study with great yoga and dance Masters, famous and unknown alike, she has cultivated something rare and precious that she is sharing through Do Something & Move!
Her electric personality and sublime wit provide the common sense and humour needed to uplift and ground the students' practice.
She is known and appreciated for her ability to assist students in deepening their inner attentiveness and comprehension of each of the eight limbs of classical yoga.
